The performances were given by Vicente Moronta (oboe) and Erwin Fonseca (electronics) as part of a production called <i>Songs of Reeds</i> featuring six composers. In three movements—Limbo, Paradiso, Ghiaccio—Palandri's °OSC° toys with our sense of hearing. Through
precise micro-oscillations, the piece unravels a tapestry of sonic
apparitions and ephemeral sound phenomena, integrating the oboe into an
intricate web of frequencies and beats; a virtually indistinguishable
and infinite union of resemblances.</span></p><p> </p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx0tjEBwaLHTp_6srLIvAa9_8bBqhf9NBKf-FJfAC7Kh5GgkkhiNls7Tb3FvyMpq15VuTpojdeaBdR1fx-WDM6MSqVKeI_Z1Eva2uTwFWHsg9eoo_1JKy4cz8gpB6kdy4oc31S1MMraGVwXMHGRjbhCemfVB8jsaNbkJg8HAQCn8KlhLgZt1m7LFjdz4M/s900/MORONTA.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx0tjEBwaLHTp_6srLIvAa9_8bBqhf9NBKf-FJfAC7Kh5GgkkhiNls7Tb3FvyMpq15VuTpojdeaBdR1fx-WDM6MSqVKeI_Z1Eva2uTwFWHsg9eoo_1JKy4cz8gpB6kdy4oc31S1MMraGVwXMHGRjbhCemfVB8jsaNbkJg8HAQCn8KlhLgZt1m7LFjdz4M/s320/MORONTA.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Oboist Vicente Moronta<br /></span></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p></p><p> </p><p> </p>MTI-RLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01325056849035875413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3247260476923075971.post-18313106659215024262024-02-21T06:48:00.000-08:002024-02-21T06:48:02.840-08:00New Work by Cristiana Palandri in Lugano<div style="color: black; font-family: Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><pre style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;"><div><span style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">PhD Student Cristiana Palandri’s work <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qvxh6auVks"><i>A Letter to Johanna</i> </a>for piano, viola, an object and </span></div><div><span style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">live electronics was performed in Lugano on 13 October 2023 by the Spheres Ensemble:</span></div><div><span style="color: #131313; font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">Chiara Ludovisi (viola), Bruna di Virgilio (piano) and Cristiana Palandri (electronics). </span></div><div><span style="color: #131313; font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">The work is an homage to German-born American musician Johanna Beyer </span><span style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">(1888- 1944). </span><span style="color: #131313; font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;"> </span></div><div><span style="color: #131313; font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">As a composer and pianist active in the United States in the 1930s, Beyer worked in </span></div><div><span style="color: #131313; font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">the shadow of male colleagues such as Henry Cowell and John Cage. This compilation is curated by Joe Beedles and Guillaume Dujat (LOL Editions) with 14 tracks by artists including WEȽ∝KER, 1000PA, Michael-Jon Mizra, Chloë Sobek, Robin Fox, Dan Valentine, SONAMB, busf, Kindohm, Ellen Phan, pantea, Lauren Sarah Hayes and Iettatore. </p><p>LOLTRAX001 is an experimental computer music compilation. Based in Manchester UK, LOL HQ have reached out to an international cohort of artists for the label's first release under the ‘TRAX’ format. Within this 56 minute celebration of rhythm, tone and noise, experience the last croak of a circuit bent keyboard, DSP dexterity, luscious pads and phased-out synthesis. Blast yourself with the full hour-long journey or take it in measures.</p><p>Proudly presenting: WEȽ∝KER’s GM dissection, 1000PA’s delicately pressurised arrangements, Michael-Jon Mizra’s synthetic scuttling, Chloë Sobek’s post-anthropocentric noise, Robin Fox’s vectorised laserscapes, Anna Xambó’s high altitude human-computer interactions, Dan Valentine's luxurious additive dub, SONAMB’s shiny mechanoids, busf’s intermittent piston blasts, Kindohm’s signature style coated in a newly saturated varnish, Ellen Phan’s therapeutic wall of sound, pantea’s filtered sonic taxidermy, Lauren Sarah Hayes’ unapologetic ML improvisations, capped off with Iettatore’s face-melting stereo spread.</p><p>There is a limited edition cassette for £12. All proceeds will be donated to MIND (UK based mental health charity).</p><p>The album can be found at Bandcamp: <a href="https://loleditions.bandcamp.com/album/loltrax001">https://loleditions.bandcamp.com/album/loltrax001</a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjLQ9I-cOEr-5fBIYkSVgPNOvBPIJraSWicPgGYQ9w4j9-gz3i6EZ_BEY2PNgCiEi_O7hxYOZqAk8jXSdpHuLjRE3RXOqmrSHnxMyPCSdD-eve9oKX0Sz-FnHDehvhZTiSCLRdJxj6tS7IVXcjdzUZBLoLfRDeFPwfuyg28nT-ppHU51MkrxA8Q1n84rs/s904/Picture%201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="508" data-original-width="904" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjLQ9I-cOEr-5fBIYkSVgPNOvBPIJraSWicPgGYQ9w4j9-gz3i6EZ_BEY2PNgCiEi_O7hxYOZqAk8jXSdpHuLjRE3RXOqmrSHnxMyPCSdD-eve9oKX0Sz-FnHDehvhZTiSCLRdJxj6tS7IVXcjdzUZBLoLfRDeFPwfuyg28nT-ppHU51MkrxA8Q1n84rs/w400-h225/Picture%201.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>MTI-RLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01325056849035875413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3247260476923075971.post-57323455807838739112023-12-15T02:55:00.000-08:002023-12-18T16:08:46.418-08:00Online Symposium Dec 15/16 2023 - HfM Trossingen - AI in Music - Agency, Performance, Production and Perception<p><span class="il"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMV0T2StUDV6kle72dZ8JkdWCEXxd46KxfcYYPoA2KgjpBbajlYKHItP6JRgDze_7lQs49GwRIBBk9tvz8bBGIFFL6b7KYLkj3HsNFEQ6q4wSgmnOC0v1f_kh8baYHs3ziIEg8o-FsQfYd6mJMApPWmjpLyCVtVTnewsebQPZQH9S7kJU_LAmJYFt7-yFY/s1000/AIMusic-banner.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="1000" height="120" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMV0T2StUDV6kle72dZ8JkdWCEXxd46KxfcYYPoA2KgjpBbajlYKHItP6JRgDze_7lQs49GwRIBBk9tvz8bBGIFFL6b7KYLkj3HsNFEQ6q4wSgmnOC0v1f_kh8baYHs3ziIEg8o-FsQfYd6mJMApPWmjpLyCVtVTnewsebQPZQH9S7kJU_LAmJYFt7-yFY/w400-h120/AIMusic-banner.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /> <p></p><p><span class="il">Artificial</span> <span class="il">intelligence</span> (<span class="il">AI</span>) is a new chapter in the ongoing development

Young worked with digital transformations of these sounds to blend them with the equal tempered tuning of the concert piano.The work was premiered in Leicester in <a href="http://mtirc-news.blogspot.com/2022/11/swedish-composerpianist-eve-siden-at-dmu.html">November 2022</a> by Swedish pianist Eva Sidén.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">A link to the work is found <a href="https://on.soundcloud.com/v8xXh" target="_blank">here</a>:<br /> <br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;
